Mommy, Why Am I a Bird? | Mamã, Porque Sou Uma Ave? is a bilingual (English | Portuguese) children's book written in 2012 during Anne Marie's Masters in Applied Ecology program at the Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal in conjunction with her dissertation work on ecological education at Jardim de Infância SASUC.

A curious little bird asks her mother what makes them birds. They navigate the possibilities together until they figure out the answer.
